LED lights. Yes or NO?

I was looking at some LED lights on the interent and was wondeing if anyone has used them? I have a 24g nano cube with pc lights and was think of adding the led to get the shimmer effect. Anyone had any experience with this?
Also if I run them at night will they have the moon light effect?

You mean the LED fixtures like the solaris or are you talking about moon lights?

go to the local autozone or something like that and buy a 4led blue dome light. it will come with just two wires that you can wire to a 12v dc power cord...gives enough glow. My friend did this for his moon lights times 2 for his 72gal.. I am doing this as well with my 30...looks good. and just like the moonlights you buy. But will only cost a total of like 12-15 bucks. I have the link you can order them from if you are interested.

LED lights are very common on saltwater tanks. They will surely not do any harm to your tank.

I was thinking about the same fixture a couple of weeks ago, but only got one response with experience with the actual light. ( I bumped the thread to the top so that you can find it.). I was looking to upgrade the lights on my 75 but didn't have confindence that a couple of those would do the job mainly because their isn't a lot of feedback out there.
I ended up buying a Nova extreme Pro in the meantime, but I may pick up one of the Powerbrite Led's to try out on a 29 Gallon.

thanks guys. according to tfolks's last thread it seems that you need more than 1 watt to get the shimmer effect.
