Lemonpeel Angel eye problem

Hi everyone,
One of the eyes on my lemonpeel angel looks like it is starting to cloud up. The LP is eating, and swimming well, but on occasion will scratch up by a rock to itch its eye.
Can you please help, and let me know what can be done, if anything?
Thank you for the help.

How long have you had this fish, and have you added any new fish to the tank resently?

I'm presuming that you did not quarantine this fish before adding him to your tank??? What type of tank and what other fish do you have? Do you have a hospital tank?....Because you are probably going to need one.
I believe the problem is ich. Start feeding all your fish garlic soaked food. Be prepared, though, for an ich outbreak. Keep us posted with symptoms, just in case I'm wrong and it develops in to something else.

Hi Beth,
My signature below shows what type of set-up and fish I have.
The more I keep looking at the LP, it looks more like a scratch on its eye, then a parasite. I'm thinking he might of scratched its eye on the net when I transfered him into the tank.
I have noticed the problem for about 4 days now. Does ich spread fast? There are no white spots on the body or fins, and all other fish look great.
I use Marc Weiss Reef vital DNA, and it claims it keeps ich from attaching to fish. Not sure if it is true, but it may help. I will start to feed the fish with garlic soaked food as you suggested.
Thank you for the help :)

The eye now looks like it has a scab at the top.
The fish is swiming, eating, and looks great. I did notice 2 very small black specs on one side and avout 3 on the other. Could this be black ich?
I do have another 10 gal tank w/ one damsel and a CBS. Is there any tyoe on meds that I can put in this tank to treat the fish?

The treatment for black ich is formalin bathes, every other day, for 45 mins, for 3-5 days. You can not use formalin in your tank.

I added a cleaner shrimp a few days ago. My lemonpeel's eye is clearing up and the 2-3 black spots on the body are gone. He is still keeping close to the cleaner shrimp. Do you think the ich case is/was mild enough that the cleaner will take care of the LP? I would hate to medicate him if not needed. I would like mother nature to do it.
All other fish have no signs of any infection and are doing great. I guess I was lucky.
I have a 10 gal. tank that had a damsel and a CBS. I took them back the LFS for some credit on the cleaner. I will now turn the 10gal into a hospital tank/ QT tank.
Since my fish are doing fine, I hate to have a tank and not use it. Can a hospital tank have a gravel bottom with a few decorations in it. At least it will look pretty wile not in use.
I have a bio-wheel 125, MJ-250 pH, 50watt heater and 15watt NO light all runnig the tank now. Since the damsel and cleaner where in it for 2 months, the tank has cycled.
should I change anything?
Thanks for the help :D
