Length of Light fixture?

I currently have a 125 gallon (72" inch long) FOWLR, but only have the standard light fixture that came with the tank. I know that Im fine with it because I have no corals (and don't plan too have any). I just wanted the type of lighting that will bring out the color in my fishes. The two 20W 50/50 bulbs I currently have aint cutting it.
Ive been currently researching some budget pc's like the csl or the complete hoods from hellolights.com. My question is, do I need a 72" light fixture (custom sealife has a pc thats 2 x 96W) or would a 48" (helios 4 x55W) be good enough to disperse light throughout my tank?
Also, would it be safe to put such high wattage light when I currently have a 7" vol. lion? I think I have read somewhere that they were light sensitive?
Any suggestions?

You want your lights all the way across the tank. If not, you will get dim spots in the corners. PC would be the way to go in a FO. They are cheaper then VHO and Halides and those two are not necessary in a FO.
As far as bulb sellection, the new SmartLight PC is an awsome looking bulb. You could get 2 of those over the tank and it would look nice. I do belive they make a 72" retro with smartlights in them.
