I am a new salt water tank owner, but have had fresd water tanks for almost 15 years. 1 month ago I started a
125 gallon salt. I have always wanted sharks, after speaking with a few local pet stores and getting all the information I could
I went ahead with it. i bought live rock (40lbs) and enough live sand to cover about 1inch. the local aquarium shop even gave me a used filter pad and some used charcoal bags. After a couple days of them setting everthing up with a wet/ dry system with a protein skimmer and a 700 gal per hr power head, I added a porcupine puffer , 1 week later ammonia and nitrites were down to O. I then purchased a baby leopard shark. Everthing is still fine an I added another leopard. Now here is the problem just yestarday i noticed that while rocky(my male shark) was resting at the bottom, Paco(the porky puffer) lazily swam by and took a bite from Rocky's tail. however i have benn watching closely since i got he first shark and this is the first time I seen paco ever show any agression, in fact the sharks swim closely by him constanly and he never bothers either of them. My girlfriend loves the puffer but i dont want him to injure my sharks. Anysuggestions?also other than prawn what else should I balance the sharks diet with/ lastly is any other filtration needed beside the wet/dry filter system w/ protein skimmer needed?
