Leopard Wrasse Question

I just bought a Leopard Wrasse from the lfs and WOW!!!!! His colors are incredible!!!! He swam into the tank after acclimating and sat at the bottom for a little while then hes swam around and WHOOSH! He kicked up the substrate and in a cloud he was gone. I realized that he had burrowed and this is where my question comes from. How long will he stay burrowed? For such an incredible fish I would hate for him to stay hidden all the time.

I don't believe they stay there when the lights are on usually and I *think* they sleep in the sand and/or use it to hide if insecure (as yours would be his first day) The first day I bought my yellow wrasse he spent 15 mins checking everything out and then "SEEYA- I'm off to bed!" into the sand he went....by the next day he was out normally. (different wrasse tho)
Post pics, I think they are beautiful fish!

Mine is usually out and about. Initially he seemed to keep bankers hours, emerge from the sand around 8:30 or 9:00 and back into the sand around 5:00 but now it is usually out and about all day long.

If your lights are on a timer he will learn to appear and disappear accordingly. They need lotsa good food

He came out the next morning and is eating. He reburrowed last night and was out today for a while. He looks healthy. He has reburrowed and i'm sure he'll be out at dinner time(for the fish).
