Here are a few pics of mine and a video clip. I have a great feeding video too, but it would likely offend some people.

I agree that it is just nature but I saw a thread get yanked due to "cruelty" because it had a video similar to mine.

I have a custom built 19 gallon acrylic . It's short and deep so it has a larger footprint. Apparently Large smashers can break glass. The JOP's put a chip in his glass.
The Chromis is actually his best pal!! He never bothers him at all. They have been in there together for months. My tank itself cost $140 total. That is custom made and shipped to me.

mine is in a 15 gal. for now putting together a 55 for her as we speak. i use a mag float and a scraper. but i've had my hand in the tank adjusting powerheads before. as long as you don't get to close they wont attack you.
i even feed her a LARGE shrimp out of my hand once.( i don't recomend this, i am a jacka$$)

I use a magfloat and a scraper as well.
The truth is with the video, how is feeding a Mantis live crabs, shrimp or hermits any different than feeding a lion fish gut-loaded ghost shrimp?
Enjoy Post #8!!!

Mine is shy and hardly ever comes out..I had to snap these real fast when i first got him.

I see him all the time but its usually him lookin at me out of his cave..or sticking its head out one of its holes.

Omgosh, ******** Decorator Mantis is the cutest thing I've ever seen, I like how he kept pattin it to make sure it was set good ^_^.
That Chromis was watchin like he wanted his share! Poor crab got himself splatted.
Do you feed live for your enjoyment or because he won't eat frozen or both?

He won't eat frozen although I havent tried too hard to switch him over. As lame as it may sound, I like feeding him live food because I think it keeps him stimulated. I stop in my LFS from time to time and pick up some hermits, snails, Peppermint Shrimp (3 for $10) and the occasional crab. Otherwise with frozen food he would just sit in his burrow day in and day out waiting for a handout.

mine eats nothing but frozen chunks of shrimp..it doesnt go after the live stuff much....but as soon as I put a chunk of shrimp on the stick...he runs over and grabs it up
