wel right now i'm just looking for corals that can be fine in a 10 g that don't rely on zoozanthelae, thats why i'm lookin for sun coral. i got some kenya frags now. are any of your coral species rely mainly on what they catch and not the algae? the lighitng the 10g has is only normal florescent.

the gorgo would be fine. I have two, one that is about 9 in tall by 5 or 6 in wide and one that is about 8 in tall by about 5 in wide.

I'm interested in some Pokerstar Monti. How much is a frag and how big. PM me so we don't hijack his thread

I just bought one with about 60 heads (
), unfortunately, I'm not yet confident in my fragging abilities in regards to this specific coral.. Maybe in a few weeks I can help you out, though

i am not going to chicago now, but i will probabbly pay some cheap shipping for like 1 polyp. thats all i need. 1 polyp can get me like 12 more in a month or two. no use spending all that money =P

I would like to remind you that just because your friend had a successful population with just one polyp, doesnt mean its going to happen to you as well. Now, if you are interested in purchasing just one polyp, I can oblige however, the shipping just doesnt make any sense. But, if you are interested in the whole piece, I have a small one with roughly 30 polyps for 36 dollars plus shipping.

I would be surprised if you grew 12 heads in one month...

i think it was a month, idk. either way, there is no use spending 36bucks on a big colony when i can buy just 1 and have more later on.

if someone is selling 30 polyps for 36 bucks that doesnt necessarily mean you just divide the amount and get one polyp for like one dollar.
In a case like this, 36 bucks is a good price actually.
Im not sure what someone would charge for one polyp, but it would have to be worth thier time to frag it and cover any losses from failed frags.
For the amount youll spend for one frag plus shipping, you would probably be better off just buying his whole thing.
Thats all they/we are trying to say.

Exactly. It isn't worth someones time to just send one polyp. But if they are so insistant that one is enough, then I am happy to oblige. In my case I always charge a $10 box charge because of how I ship the items. I just usually throw it in the price of the item. For some reason some people get all bent out of shape when they see BOX CHARGE. I have to pay for my perishable shipping boxes, bags, invoices, packing slip envelopes, reef plugs, glue, ice packs and all other overhead that goes into keeping these animals alive.
