LFS drives me nuts.

I was just thinking that I would love to start my own LFS. I feel that I have more than enough knowledge and have the heart and concern for the hobby to relly help people out. Then it hit me that how could you possibly suceed in running a profitable LFS if you don't plan on selling people fish that probably are going to die so they will buy more fish, and selling people lots of stuff that they don't need so the dollars keep rolling in.
I guess when I make make a couple million and don't have to make a profit I will start a LFS :D
No real point to this thread, I have the phone watch and was just thinking.

Well you could always do what my lfs did to me. Say that keeping a SW tank is so easy these days and give your customers basic knowledge. Then when they come to you with a problem tell them that this $20 bottle of something will cure their problem. Another problem? Here is another $20 bottle. The problem is your cusotmers will eventually find this site and then learn how to cure the real problems they have in their tank and then don't have to buy the bottles from you anymore.

I think that a few LFS's should find this site for themselves. I wish that I could stop people in the shop and say don't take their advice, look at their tanks! It's funny how many reefs I've seen in shops under NO bulbs. Its worse when someone leaves the store with a 10,20 or 50g tank, NO lights and bagged up fish. "The guy at the store said I would be fine." "OK, I know you won't be, but I don't own an LFS"
