Todds is nice but trying find someone to help is a joke. I go to Neptunes at university and county line right off C470. Keys Island seems to be going down hill, but they have a great frag collection. Reef and pond on Santa Fe has a lot of nice stuff, only been there once but was impressed with there stock. For tanks Sherman Tank is prolly the cheapest I've found. There a little place around the corner from Reef and Pond called Quality Aqua. Aagian only been there once but nice and clean and very friendly folks.
Of coarse always take anything a LFS says with a grain of salt b/c they are there to sell you something. Most of them think I'm insane by not running mechanical filters and are amazed at my water quality. I guess they just think I'm lucky.
Honestly I come here for advise and really don't pay much attention to any of them. Do your own research and your good.
Where are you folks at in the city? I'm way out east in Doug county almost to Elbert.

I'm in Aurora so Todds is convenient although I agree don't ask them many questions cause you might not get the answer you want. Shermans is waaaaay on the other side of town so they are out. Might try that one at county line and university, that's like a mile from my work (The Avaya buildings).
Is the one on Santa fe you mentioned next to Red and Jerry's? I know there used to be one there but I can't remember the name...if it's even still in business.
BTW: I am getting ready to set up my tank and am looking for the specific items to purchase for FOWLR set up. Do I just need a pump and wet dry to get started (and rock and sand)? I plan on getting something that could handle a 3 or 400 gallon tank.

I can't remember the cross street for Reef-n Pond. Its right on Santa Fe in a small strip mall. I still keep meaning to get back to Quailty Aqua. But down there on Santa fe is a hike for me.
Well what I would suggest is LR and LS. If you want to go wet-dry you can. Might get away with a little less rock. But the majority of the Bio-filtration can come from rock and sand. Are you setting up an aggressive tank?
