I live in queens and work in the city too but when it comes to buying anything saltwater I always buy online. Everything local is going to cost you more. It's best to make a 200-300 dollar order online when most places offer free shipping and buy the things you want. corals, fish, inverts and especially dry goods will be alot cheaper.
