Today was a nice day so I got my husband to drive us to Beitals fish store. I came from Staten Is so it was a good drive. I dont know if anyone has gone there but if u haven't u didn't miss much. The web site looks better.
Most of this places fish were with some fungus , eyes pecked out or dead. There was a huge hermit crab in the reef tank tearing apart a sea apple. Lets talk over priced, I bought a baby a baby 6- line for 11.00 at my lfs store, this place wanted 35.00 for the same one and more for the bigger ones, 40.00 for a coral beauty I bought one for 20.00 at my lfs store. need I say more.
He had a couple of small thins that were interesting like the conch and a couple of other small thing but I found it very over priced. So needless to say I came home empty handed!!!!!
So my search continues for a new lfs store that I like.
OH P.S.......... Lets not forget the man followed us around like we were going to steal something........... Lets see no coats, or pocket book maybe Ill pull a sea apple out the the tank and stuff it in my shoe,,,,, Give me a break:rolleyes:

Did you check out the $12.00 per pound live rock? I wasn't to impressed either when i drove over a couple of months ago. I usually go to Absolutely fish on rt 46 in Clifton. Not the best prices but they have nice livestock and the service is good.

I went there about 3 weeks ago. They had mostly big fish when I was there. Hugh fish, and the other smaller fish were over priced. They had crap for coral selection. I went home empty handed also. About 1.5 hours for me.

I went to Beitals and wasnt impressed they wanted to charge me like $340 to come and drill 2 holes in my tank mind you I live about 20 mins away from them in NJ total ripp off they have a huge tank with a black tip shark and a few leopards and filled with other fish it looks like a previous thread with a tank being over its limit and I do mean over its limit, couldnt really get any help and they are over priced, I too usually go to absolutley fish in clifton, till this guy I know opens his place up here in palisades park he is supposed to be twice the size of absolutley fish..we will see

Reef encounters is pretty good lil pricey I think but then again the pieces were big too. We bought a big pearl bubble for 39.00. Nice place lots of stuff. Was there about 3 months ago though so not sure if its the same.
Someone told me about reef ink ( rt 22) I may go check this out next weekend. Will post when I go to let people know
