LFS setups!! good or bad?

My LFS has about 25, 15gal tanks that are all hooked together... They claim that the size of the tank has nothing to do with the fishes health, but its the water quality that is the factor. From what ive read here this is BS! They have many of your more expensive fish in 15gal tanks(clown triggers, purple tangs, SHARKS, etc...)!!!! I thought that fish like those need LOTS of swimming space to stay less "stressed out". Many of their fish are doing bad, This place is a real horror story.... What do you guys think about this kind of setup?

my LFS has many small tanks maybe 20 gallons if even that big. His fish are the best in town. He dosent keep them long enough to matter I think.

Of the two lfs I go two both have about 10 tanks hooked up together. I don't particularly like one because every time I go the fish seem to have a small case of ick or shredded fins or just not looking good in general. It just seems that as soon as one gets ill, the entire system suffers.
The other has a 100 gallon quarantine tank in the back before he puts any of his fish in the front and qt's them for at least 2 weeks per shipment. More expensive but a little more trustworthy in my opinion.

Newb, if the tanks are all hooked up like a typical lfs, then their water volume is like one big tank making the water more stable.
I agree that it sucks to have big fish in small tanks, lfs rationalize it as part of the biz. They are paying rent per square feet, so it is hard to knock them.

matt you are right, the more tanks linked.....
but another thing is, if one tank gets any kind of disease or parasite, they all can get it, unfortunaltely this is the major draqback to doing things this way, the advantadeis a better bio filter and more water stability, this is one of those darned if you do, darned if you don't things :D
