Lifespan of Lights

What are the life span of Metal Halides and Flourescents. When do you need to change them out. I guess they are not like your household light bulbs that only need changing when they burn out.

1X 10,000k Coral Sun
1X Actnic Coral Sun
Any advice?

Metal Halides are once a year and flourescents are anywhere form 6 months to a year.
