I have a 10 gallon tank set up with live rock and crabs so far im going to pick up my clowns this weekend on my way back to school. My question is that I just picked up a 28watt 20 inch coralife light. I also have my old school florsient (sp) light from when this tankw as a freshwater tank. Should I hook both lights up and out a 50/50 bulb in the old school unit or jsut use the new light i just bought?

If you want corals i would sugest getting a Coralife 96 watt setup. I have it and there great. But if it's fish only the 28 watt should be fine.

Do you have a 10g tank? I was wondering b/c the lightis huge compaired to the tank. Should I get the plastic foot things or the adjustable ones?

I was thinking about getting the clear plastic legs that are designed for the light. I went to my LFS and opened up the ones that move the light up and down and they wont work if you have a glass hood on the tank so that is a no go. Im goign to use the clear legs untill I can fab some metal or design a model for plastic legs that will work better. (got to love having access to CNC machines for free errrr off-road race team
) Question about the light you have. Are you able to open the glass top with the light when i looked it at i thought htat it covered pretty much the whole top of the tank. Do you think I could do a clam or an oyster in the tank with that light?
