light fixture GCFI keeps tripping

I have two Wave Point 36 inch fixtures with the built in GCFI on the plug I have it plugged into timers to automatically turn them on and off everytime the timer clicks off, it trips the GCFI, and the next time they're supposed to come on they don't. Has anyone ran into this problem?

that sudden jolt from the timer will trip them every time. thats what the gfis are made to do. if i was u i would try a strip plug out that has a built in trip
