Light Fixture?

My father just bought a 155 bowfront tank. He wants to get a light fixture that will support hard corals. He has heard that metal halide is the best but is worried about the heat. He doesnt want to get a chiller if he doesnt have too. So he is stuck between a t5 fixture or metal halide. About how many watts do you think he needs to be running and what fixture would be the best?
