Light heating up tank

First day with new light... Tank heated up 6 degrees. Does anyone have a way to combat this besides a chiller... I heard fans... Is that one way, and should i take off the glass hood

I would remove the top if you dont have any jumpers. You can put a fan on the sump. You can have a couple of fans blowing across the water and under the lights. Also lifting the lights higher would also help.

My PCs used to raise my tanks temperature a few degrees each day when i had the glass canopy on. i cracked it and stopped using it now and my tank only raises 1-2 degrees each day and then the temp goes back to normal overnight.
so take off the hood and look into fans and that should help
