i recently bought h t5 and led lighting for my 10 gallon reef tank. the mh is 150 watt and i am ordering chalice coral soon. i know chalice dont like extremely high lighting so i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to raise the light about a foot above the tank without buying a hanging system. i have milk crate between the light and the tank so it reflects some light but i want them to be lifted so i dont need to use it.

You can make a wood platform. Just have lowe's cut a piece of wood into several blocks to match the width of the aquarium. Then, use a glue and glue the blocks together. I spray painted mine to match the stand. It works good
