My tank came with a 22 w light and I was wondering if this is enough to keep live rock and a small reef alive. The room its placed in will have indirect sunlight. I live in Texas so we do get alot of strong daylight.
Thanks, Jeff

its not enough light to support any corals except non photosynthetic ones. its not an exact science, but you really need at least 3-5 watts per gallon of pc,vho or mh lighting to have enough light for a reef.hth.

I am using a 250watt metal halide on my 35g hex as i am also setting up a reef tank . I plan on keeping clams which need very high light . best of luck on your tank
