Light mounting with legs or right on top?

Greetings all. I just purchased an Orbit 48" light for my 55 gal. Should I use the legs or put it directly on top? Pros or cons?

i got the same setup, 65x4 with lunar.. i used the legs cause i dont have any top at all on my tank, so i want it lifted at least a little to stay away from water... without the legs, it may be too close to ur tank and heat the water up quite a bit!
