ok i have a 48 inch 50/50 and a 48 inch blue 03 Fluorescent light on my tank for now. only have mushrooms for now.
i was wondering what i would gain by going to t5 lights i haven't seen the 50/50 in a t5 or the blue 03
i was looking at T5 Fluorescent Lamp 10,000K by CoralVue
is this a good light?
also what the diff in a Aquarium fixture and a ceiling fixture for a t5 light?

I just asked basically the same question about a day ago as I too have been looking into T5. Basically, the advantages they have over PCs are they run cooler, are more energy efficient, and put out a lot more light. The only difference that I am aware of between the aquarium fixture and the ceiling is that the ceiling is easier to install in a canopy. Shouldn't be a power difference.

There are standard-output T5 and high-output T5. The HO are the ones you want to use; the 48" lamps are 54w each. The size and depth of your tank will determine how many bulbs you need. Individual reflectors are a must.
