light retro's vs assembly in canopy

Hello,
We are doing some research on lighting. T5's to be exact. why is it retros can be attached to a canopy and assembly's can NOT be in a canopy? same amount of heat is produced. From what we see at the moment assembly's can be purchased cheaper than retros and would love to get one to fit inside our canopy.
Thanks

assemblies can be installed in the canopy, just put a few fans in to get the hot air out. I just purchased the 72" t-5 fixture that will go in my canopy.

You just need to install some type of brackets to hold the fixture in place, or do what I did, disassemble the unit partly and s c r e w in place, and reassemble.

Cool, hey trip - did you attach the light right to your canopy? is your canopy wood and if so do you have a heat issue (metal touching wood?)
Thanks again

Yes, yes, and no. I don't know about a MH fixture, but my T5 fixture is fine. I think a MH fixture would be OK too, as long as there is enough ventilation through use of fans.
