Lightbulb question

Should you replace HQI light bulbs before they burn out? Or do you just wait untill it's shot before you get a new one?
I've got a frogspawn coral that recently started bleaching and I'm not sure if it's because my bulb is too old or what. I've had the bulb for about 7 months

bulbs need to be replaced every so often depending on the brand. most mh bulbs should be replaced every 9-12 months. how r other corals doing besides the frogspawn?

but will you be able to tell when they need to be replaced, or do you just need to replace them after 9-12 months?
all the other corals are doing fine. I've had the frogspawn for over half a year too.
