You can't beat Metal Halite.I have one 175watt over my 130 fowlr along with four flo tubes. The MH is not for reef tanks only.Plus any anemones or live rock you have will benifit from it.I am planning on adding at least one more(maybe two) very soon.

You can be creative here. Over my 125 I have 6 bulbs. 2-110 watt VHO, 2-95 watt VHO, 2-30 watt NO. My hood is divided into 3 sections. The 110's are 48" long centered over the tank (kinda towards the front). The other 4 bulbs (2-95's and 2-30's) run basically end to end.

This is a top view of bulb placement. I used a piece of 2' x 4' oak (1/2"). Then filled in the ends with the same thing. I remove one of the ends for feeding. I like this because I don't mess with the lights in order to feed. I have nothing in between the water and lights. Seems to work well for me. Good Luck and I hope you understood my drawing. The two bottom lines (48" lights) are centered.

SOunds like a plan, or something similar, I just have to figure a way to integrate it into my setup. My tank is going to be an in-wall tank so the hood wont be an option, well, at least not a conventional one that is.

I'm working on a hood for my new 125 also. I bought 2 175 Watt Icecap MH off the net for $100 each and am thinking about adding 2 96 Watt CF light for the blue.
Does anyone have any opinions on this set up?
I haven't decided yet aggressive or reef, so Lets just assume reef. A little extra light shouldn't hurt anyway, right?
