Lighting and stuff

Hmmm well...
My set up....30 gal tank, glass hood with a Twin Tube Strip Lite...this strip came with 2 florescent bulbs. The only information I have found out about he lights is that there 15Watts, 18 inch long bulbs, with a built in reflector(24inches) for maximum lightning.
Now I removed one bulb and added a Coralife 50/50...50% Natural Daylight 6000k.....50% Actinic 03 Blue...Now the blue part doesnt say any amount of 'k. On the little box it says 360 degree output, 18 inch, 15W.
Now that gives me around 1W per gallon, I believe. Now I am not sure on what my 'k is tho. Only bulb I find that on is the 50/50 but thats only 50% of it(i think) hmmm. SO thats 6000k i believe.
Now would that be suffeicent for Live rock to grow with additives added into the tank?
Do higher wattage bulbs come in 18inches?
What can I do to improve on the lighting?
Thanks

Go up to the biggest bulbs you can fit over the tank. A 30 gallon is 36inches long,I think. Go with 30-36inch fixture. These bulbs will be higher wattage. An 18in bulb is 15 watts. Unless you get vho or pc. STEVE

Actually mines 24inches....But I would have to buy all new bulbs and hood......
My tank dimensions are 24 inches long, 12 inches wide, and like 15 inches tall.

Go to Home Depo,or Lowes and look at their flo light fixtures. See if you can put 24in ones on your tank,if not look into buying or making a hood and cramming as many 18in ones as possible in there. You should be able to get at least four@ about $5 ea. plus bulbs. STEVE

Lights of America makes this circular bulb with a removable ballast intended for home use. You can buy it for about 15 bucks, unhook the circular 30W compact, and put a 27w quad or 28w regular bulb on it. I would use 2 6700K and one 7100K. This is pretty darn cheap.
