Lighting for 10g Pony tank

Would this fixture be to much for a ten gallon pony tank?

not having my tank set up yet, not positive but from what i have read and my experience's with reef tanks that is more than enough

I wanted to get a unit that would allow for future softies that are pony safe.

well 8 watts per gallon is more than enough for softies and lps if you every change your mind and need it for something else

I've seen those light fixtures advertised as well, but I've never had one. The only thing I would keep an eye on once on the tank is the heat factor. I do have pc's on my sh tank (Coralife), and heat has certainly not been a factor there, but then it's on a much larger tank. Where are you thinking of purchasing the light?

It's from an online source. I was going to check with my LFS too, and compare prices.
