Lighting for 55 gal saltwater tank

I am starting a 55 gal saltwater fishtank and I would like to buy a lighting fixture is that I can have the options of coral if I want to.

It all depends on the type of coral you want. Low light corals don't require anything except the fish lights.
Soft corals only need the 50/50 PCs
SPS need Metal Halides.
So look at what kind of coral you want and go from there.

We are interested in Carpet Anemones we just want to make sure we are all set up no matter what anemone or coral we use. Are some lights to strong for certain ones?

A good T5ho fixture (with good bulbs and individual reflectors) will allow you to keep whatever you wanted. 4-5 bulbs would be plenty.

I have a current usa nova extreme pro and I couldnt be happier. You can control the lights in 2 sets (2 bulbs on 1, 4 on the other). Not as much heat as halide and for my setup its perfect for basically anything I want to do.
