I am about to purchase new lighting for my 55g tank to turn it into a reef tank. I was looking at the Nova Extreme lights (T5). They are 48'' long and put out 216 Watts. Would that be sufficient enough for coral and reef?
If you are looking at Nova Extreme's, go with the pro that has individual reflectors on the lights. That way you can keep just about what ever you want in your tank
If you have a canopy then a retrofit is the way you want to go. Four individually reflected T5 would be plenty. If you don't have a canopy then the four-bulb TEK, or the five-bulb Aquactinics TX5 would be good choices.
