i have a 90 gallon and want to upgrade the lighting. i am currently looking into a 8 x 54w T5HO. Any suggestions on brands or personal experience with any certain fixtures would be greatly appreciated. Also what brand and type of bulbs should i run. would like to keep various corals, clam, and maybe a BTA. Was wanting to stay away from halides due to the amount of heat they produce.
Thanks in advance

In my 90g I use 2 X 175w 14K MH with actinic and a strip of moonlights for the night. Hamilton brand. I am very happy with it.

The 8-bulb TEK would be a good choice. If you don't mind spending a little more money the the 6-bulb ATI Powermodule would also be a good choice.
As far as bulbs, stick with ATI, UVL, and Geisemann. The combo really depends on what you like. A split of ATI Aquablue Special and ATI Blue Plus is a good place to start, then add or take away what you want.
IMO there isn't going to be a whole lot of difference in the amount of light youre gonna get out of the halides vs T5ho.
