Lighting for coralline algae in FOWLR

Hey everyone,
What would be the best lighting conditions for Coralline algae for tanks between 18 and 30 inches in depth?
I'm looking to do a FOWLR as opposed to a reef tank in order to keep costs down. But if I am going to need PC lighting plus additions of Calcium and other elements to grow the Coralline algae I might be forced to set up a smaller tank.
Thanks

And more importantly still, the alkalinity must be kept up.
This is easily done, with the addition of good additives, which are minimial cost. (Depending on your size of tank.)

So even for a tank up to 30 inches deep I can use regular 40 watt NO bulbs?
My wallet is really begining to LOVE FOWLR.
Thanks

Haha yeah FOWLR is cheaper that a full blown reef. (I sometimes wish I had thought that but love my reef nonetheless.) Naturally, coralline algae grows in caves and at lower depths. This summer I went snorkeling in the Virgin Islands and didn't see coralline except for under overhangs. The real key is hight Alk. and Ca.
