lighting for corals ( time ) ?

I was trying to find out how much time I would need of total light to keep my mushroom & star polop alive while i get my alage problem under control. all fish are in Q T,( ick problem ), right now total time of light is 10 am to 7.30 pm . have been doing water changes to try slowing down outbreak of alage.

corals will do fine with 7-8 hours per day. if u r fighting algae, u can turn it off for 3-4 days. algae could be caused by aging bulbs or nutrients in ur water supply.
