Lighting for fish only tank

Ok, I'm sure someone has already asked this question, however, when I did a search a few minutes ago, nothing came up. I think there's a slight problem with the server. Anyway, I have a 44 gallon pentagon, already cycled, but not sure of the kind of lighting I need. I plan to keep a trigger and a puffer, not sure what else. Can anyone advise what the best wattage would be? Would a 50/50 do? Do I need actinic too? My lfs guy let me borrow a 10,000k saltwater blue bulb. It's pretty, but its just blue. Any thoughts? :joy:

For fish only it realy what looks good to you, Fish dont realy care about light. But some dont adjust well to bright light.
A 10000k buld should not be that blue.:notsure:
I think what ever brings out the colors best on what ever fish you have or get.
Bulbs are the most confusing and frustrateing and controversal thing about this hobby and cost too damn much.

Great, thanks for the advice. I was thinking about a 50/50, but a friend of mine run's one of those and her tank looks like it has black lights, but her fish do well and she always has neat stuff growing on her live rock. Go figure. :D
