Lighting for the anemone

I have a FOWLR tank and am upgrading to a reef. What are some anemones that aren't so fradgile. I want something my 2 clowns will host. I don't have anything yet but am just planning to save up for some halides. For a 95gal tank how many wats would be a comftorable amount to keep an anemone under

I would limit myself to only one species, also it helps to know what type of clown fish you have.
At a minium I would have no less than 440 watts of VHO over the tank, however since it is at least 24 inches deep then you would of course want MH lighting.
I use a 440w VHO/500w MH combo myself on my 90 gallon. When looking at the MH lighting I would go no less than 2-250w MH bulbs.

I have 2 tank raised percs. I'm fine with forkin over 800-900$ for MH. Heres my dilemna...I have a jawfish which is a "leaper". I also have a canopy how can I seal off my tank without it getting overheated and a jawfish not leaping. I was thinking gutter guards that people use to prevent leaves from getting in there in stuff. I would like to keep my canopy though, what should I do...BTW I already have one fan on my NO lights, and I could fit 4 more total. Right now I have a FOWLR tank but my Long Nose Buttefly died so I'm going reef. Could I also put fans on my sump? It would cool down the water which goes into the tank. Thanks for the input and more is welcome!

Plastic egg crate will work if you cut it to fit the area you need. You can get it at Lowe's or Home Depot.

Thanks denise...I was wondering if there was any way I could keep my canopy though. I've actually been wondering (since I live in AZ) that I should go with the Current USA power compacts. It's 4x96w. 2 dual day light and 2 dual actnic. It's 500$ at my LFS. Do power compacts put out a lot less heat than MH?

Power Compacts do put out less heat. However, since I live in IA and have lived in TX and dealt with heat issues, I would get ones with dual fans on them. Many people cut into the canopy to make the fans expel the air outside of the canopy.
Good luck!

You do know that they may never host the anemone. It seems like alot of money for something that is not a sure thing. I have a BTA and my two tank raised percs have not even looked at it and may never.
