I currently have a 110 gallon tank with a current 2x150 halides and 2 96 power compacts. This will not be sufficient to do what I want in the long run. I believe it will be fine with zoas and things but when I want to go sps it will not due. I am not handy one bit so what light do you suggest to take me to the next level. I looked up par 38 leds but don't think this is the answer.
Simple Question the current fixture I have what is the ideal tank for it. Meaning what size tank can I keep sps with it running over.

Retrofit kits are easy to do. If you already have a canopy check out getting two 250w halides backed by four t5s. That would do well for a 110g high SPS tank. 400w mh lights would be way too much and would sunburn some SPS. You could even keep clams on the bottom of the tank.
Retrofit kits are really easy to hook up. Usually it's just connecting green to green, white to white and black to black. Then screwing the light into the canopy. Easy as pie.

Curious as to what the actual dimensions are on the 110? You could make the existing light fixture work, knowing it's limitations and placing your SPS accordingly. Now if your planning an SPS dominated tank might consider other alternatives......Honestly T5 setup would/could work depending on your long term goal.
