I have been out of the hobby for a while now.I just got back in with a deep blue 80 gallon rimless(48x24x16).I wanted to do everything right this time so I got some good equiptment.I'm concerned about the led panel my lfs sold me.I have one 270 watt led panel from atlantic sunlite.I have it centered about 14" off the water.Their website says it has more light than a 400 watt metal halide. My question is will this panel be enough light for my tank?I currently have fish,lr,ls and a few corals.I have no idea what the optics are for this light.Thanks....

It say (90) 3watt LED's and (2) blue. This has become old design, the new ones have a mixture types of whites and blues, to give fuller spectrum of light that corals like better. The fixture will work they are 3 watt bulbs, just saying you bought new you should get the newest design, like the SOL Vegas, Apolo Reef UV5000, Maxspect Razor or Eco Tech Radon. Also some pictures of your tank would be nice, I like pictures of others tanks.

So if I go with the sol vega will just one panel be good for my size tank?
What I would do is test the light that you have first and see if it lives up to its expectations. If it is a full spectrum LED light, then sure, that would probably work, as long as it lights up the tank well and your corals have good polyp extension and doesn't seem like they are doing poorly.
It's the Vega color that he is talking about. I highly recommend it, but for a four foot tank, unfortunately, you would need two. The good news is that these little units will maintain their value - and they are fully upgradeable and customizable. They also come with a controller that is pretty neat to use - and you can change your color spectrum (more blue, more white, more green, whatever you want.)
HTH.
