lighting(hood or retro)

I am ready to but lights for a 90gal tank that has a canopy. The canopy is 48" long and 5" deep, my question is when buying the lights do I need a hood or a retro kit...I want to buy a vho Ice cap setup with 4 bulbs. My other question is how would a retro kit hook up if the canopy is a split top..The canopy was made by all-glass ..any info would be helpful..Thanks

You will need a retro kit. I'm not familiar with a split hood but it sounds like you would need a DIY reflector or individual reflectors.
