lighting in sump

i removed the bio balls in the sump and added chaeto and lr- what kind of lighting do i need? i read some where that you should have the lighting in the sump on when the lighting in the tank is off- yes?

Yes, a reverse photo-period to the display is a good idea.
The light doesn't need to be fancy. A clamp-on light with a spiral compact fluorescent bulb would be fine.

Try and look for a bulb with a color temp around 6500k. Thats what I use and many others. it works great.

just to add this is to off set the night time ph drop
