Lighting is too purple

Hi all,
I was hoping some of you could help me out here...
I am setting up a new FOWLR tank (about 40 gallons) and purchased a simple lighting setup the other day consisting of 2 fluoros (one white 10000K and one actinic). My problem is for my taste the lighting is too purple/pink. It makes everything glow a light pink.
My question is, can anyone suggest a way to fix this (without making me spend $$$$ to get MH lights). I was thinking of supplementing the fluoros with LED light strips - maybe blue or white - to try and get a whiter/bluer light. Would this do any harm to anything in the tank, and do you think it would fix the problem?

What kind of lights are these...?
Just NO (normal output) flourescent...? 20 watt or 40 watt...?
For a FOWLR you do not need the power or expense of MH...and probably don't need the LED moonlights unless you want the after hours glow they provide..
For the NO strip lights there is a plethora of bulbs available in many different flavors (colors) whites, bright whites, pinks, blues, yellows, and actinic as well as full spectrum and tri phosphors and and dedicated K values...
They are cheap enough to purchase a half dozen and switch them out until you find the color or combination of color YOU want...
URI, GE, and Aqua Sun are a couple mfgs to look for...
