I have read alot, and am confused by everything... I am on a tight budget, and I have a 55 gal, 48x13x21 (lwh). I want to keep a wide variety of things, some of the easier anemonies, clams, prett much anything other than hard corals. Thanks!!

welcome to the boards.
The new craze is T5 Lighting. and with money being on the tight side, maybe the way to go. checkout the big

[hr]
site and do a search for T5 lights. they will support most soft corals, mushrooms, and a FEW types of anemones. but definetly not clams.

depends on your cash on hand 200 watts for around 200 bucks 400 watts for around 400 bucks. You can get some resonable halides now for around the same money and then you can have the clam...

I can pull between 200-300.... so I was looking on the big site at the T5's, and I see one that is 6x54... or there is a another one that is 4x54...
