Lighting question please help

I just got a 125 gallon reef tank and ordered a PC retro kit to mount on my canopy, the question is do I remove the glass covers that go over the tank?

u can.... i removed my acrylic cover to let the water stay cooler and for better oxygination.... if your lights are close to the water then some splash back might get on them which could be dangerous...
mine are set in a 12" canopy so nothing comes close to hitting them./.... only thing is that the water evaporates much quicker without the glass top.... in my case its easier not having one for access reasons

As far as the oxygenation thing if you have a sump I think it is a non-issue... I run 2 x 250W MH and glass tops... keeps evaporation to a minimum
