Old Yeller was referring to power compact flourecent lighting. There are a few different kinds, PC, NO-normal output flourecent,VHO-very high output flourecent, and metal halide-MH. As for incandecent(sp?), get rid of it. They get too hot. I am assuming from the small size of the tank, you are going to have fish only? Personally, I wouldn't go smaller than a twenty gal.(easier to keep a larger tank stable, temp.,ph,etc.). Either way, a NO flourecent will work for a fish only tank(corals need lots more light), if that's what you're planning. You can pick a bulb that will bring out the colors of the fish(50/50 or 10,000 k look great). HTH

As far as cycling the tank, do a search on this BB. There is LOTS of info. Good luck.
