i have 4 - 55 watt bulbs for my 60 gal... There is a plastic cover that slides in the light fixture to protect the bulbs, my question is if that plastic cover has salt creep all over it does that effect the lighting and will that effect cause algae problems?
also, whats the best way to scrape off salt creep from the plastic cover???

the salt creep on the clear plastic protecting your bulbs would be similar to a cloudy day to the sun.... it won't cause algae blooms though. to clean it, just remove it and use a warm wash cloth to wipe it off. once the salt is wet it will come off fairly easily. no chemicals, just warm water.
