Lighting Question

Currently I have a 92 gallon bow FO tank. I have 3 lighting hoods. The front has a "regular bulb" and a Triton bulb. The second has one "regular bulb" and then the third has an actinic bulb. I would like to convert the tank to a reef tank between now and summer. What will I need to change for the lighting. I always read about all these people using Metal Halide lights. What is the difference between what I am using and what I should be using. Would i just be able to switch the bulbs in my hood with metal halide bulbs?

First for a reef tank you need to lose what you have now, and buy 300 watts min. of PC's or VHO's or MH's. Also use a live sand bed and get a good skimmer, a berlin tubo or a turbo floater are nice for your tank.
