lighting question

I am new to the hobby and have a question on lighting. I have a 60 gal, with about 50 #'s of lr. I am in need of some more lights, and I don't no what to do. I am currently running only one 40 watt power glo. Any suggestions??? I would like to make something myself to save $$$.

What kind of corals do you want to keep?
What are the dimensions of your tank?
Price in mind you could do VHO and be able to keep most corals.
