im planning on setting up a 90g oceanic bf. this is a 4' long tank. i am planning on using VHO lighting for this FOWLR setup with maybe some soft corals later. my question is do i want to use a 46.5" or 36" retrofit kit for the oceanic cap. i know the 46.5' will fit but i also want to add cooling fans on each end. will there be enough room for the 46.5" kit and fans? would there be a problem if i use the 36" kit as far as noticable light coverage? thanks.

use the 4 foot bulbs. The cost isnt that much for the length of the bulbs and you get more light. The cooling fans dont take up room. They are often times mounted below the lights. Check out some canopy designs and you will be able to fuigure it out.

If you build your own canopy, build it a little longer to fit the fans.
If you already have a canopy, place the bulbs on each side of the fan.
