just curious what kind/size lights would you guys recommend for a 125g FOWLR? the tank is 72" long. also which do you guys prefer, glass top or eggcrate?

For a FOWLR you can use whatever type of lights you want. If you are definitely not going to put corals in you can make do with a plain old florescent strip light but I would at least put Power Compacts with separate daylight and actinic bulbs to make your fish's colors pop more.
Try to stay away from glass tops if you can. They hold in heat and inhibit gas exchange. Eggcrate is the way to go!

thanks dragon, thats the answers im looking for. right now i have a corallife48" setup but one of the actinic lights went out so i wondered about an upgrade. but i guess ill just replace the bulbs and change out my glass top for eggcrate. should i worry about my eel trying to escape through the eggcrate or anything?
