I have a 29g Biocube and i had started to get a moderate dose of algae growth i guess i was keeping the light on for too long. I am wondering what is a good light schedule to have?

I'm not sure what kind of lights or how many switches you have on your biocube. What was your photoperiod prior? How long were your lights on for?
My lights are on timers. At 11:00am my actinics come on, followed by my daylights at noon. At 9:00pm my daylights go off, followed by my actinics at 10:00pm. I leave my led moonlights on 24/7.

Well i use to run the daylights with the actinics from about 10 to 7pm then turned off the daylights and left the actinics on until about 10pm. And like you the leds are left on 24/7. I have 2 switches on the lid one for days and one for actinics.

Try cutting back to 8 hours to start, until your algae is under control then slowly increase them back to where you want them. That said, it's more likely that you have phosphates and/or nitrates which is probably where your algae is coming from but the lights are aiding in its growth.

I'b battling algae also.
I htink phosphates are a big cause.
I've heard going a day or 2 with no lights wont hurt either.
