I recently hung my MH and have had them running for three days. I have noticed my skimmer cup producing more gunk then usual and I have also noticed that my glass is accumulating more algae(redish). I know that my nitrates have been high in the past and I seemed to have corrected the problem - My assumption since I have not really had a minute to test (busy) my nitrates are high again. Is it coincidentaly that this happened so soon after hanging MH or do they have something to do with it?
