lighting while on vacation?

I'm going on vacation next week (5 days) and I have someone to feed the fish in my FOWLR tank, but I was wondering about the lighting needs for the fish and inverts. Should I have my fish-feeder turn the light on in the morning and off in the evening? I only feed my fish once a day. My tank is in the living room, so there would be at least some ambient light (not totally dark).
I would guess that my critters might actually prefer the darker environment, but I don't know. I have two clown gobies (1 yellow, 1 purple two-striped), 1 false perc, 1 pajama cardinal, and 1 orange striped watchman goby.

Ditto, use a timer, they sell them at walmart. We have a few. This way, lights go on and off at the same time everyday, even if you're not home. One less thing for you to worry about.

Ummm... Gee, thanks. D'oh! Why didn't I think of that?!? Timer. CHECK!
(just out of curiosity... would they freak out if they don't get light?)

Think about it this way... Would you like to go 5 days without light? I think the timer is your best bet.
