Just purchased 2 175W MH lights along with 2 10K actinics in a 48" fixture. Was wondering if it was OK for the lights to sit directly on top of the glass cover I have?? What do you guys think????

I think that'd be too hot on the tank and screw up the water temp as well. I think the best way is to hang them, or at the VERY LEAST, have them sitting high off the top of the tank (IF YOUR HOOD HAS GOOD FANS). This is just my opinion and I'm far from an expert...
